Optimization of fused deposition modeling parameters for hips flexural strength with Taguchi method

Abstract HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene) is one of the materials used in 3D printing. Research and application use this material have not been done much, especially applications that require flexural strength. This study aims to find a combination FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) process parameter settings, produce experiments with highest strength, optimization using experimental design Taguchi method parameters namely orientation position specimen, fill pattern, density, layer. The results showed confirmation experiment produced strength (32.6753 MPa). In before confirmation, (31,3768 MPa) was shown number 5 (3rd position, pattern lattice, 75% 0.125 mm layer thickness).
